Background Humanitarian crises, whether caused by conflict, natural disasters or mass displacement, have a devastating impact on communities, particularly on women. Women often face increased challenges in accessing resources, education and economic opportunities. This project aims to address these needs by establishing a sustainable and long-term initiative to support the economic empowerment of women in the following beneficiary categories: internally displaced persons, refugees, returnees and host populations. Project Objectives 1. Strengthen Women’s Economic Empowerment: Provide training and resources to develop income-generating activities. 2. Promote Education and Capacity Building: Provide ongoing training on business management, marketing and technical skills. 3. Improve Psychosocial Well-Being: Provide psychosocial support to help women overcome the trauma related to their situation. 4. Facilitate Market Access: Create opportunities for women to sell their products and services in a sustainable manner. As Objective 1. Creation of Cooperatives – Encourage the formation of women’s cooperatives to pool resources, share knowledge and access larger markets. 2. Psychosocial Support – Organize support groups and mental wellness workshops to help women manage stress and trauma. 3. Access to Financial Resources – Establish a microcredit or mutual aid fund system to enable women to invest in their businesses. 4. Networking and Market Access – Create partnerships with local businesses and organize fairs to exhibit and sell products made by women. 5. Monitoring and Evaluation – Establish a monitoring system to assess the impact of the project on the lives of participants and adjust activities based on the results obtained. Project Sustainability To ensure the long-term sustainability of the project: – Local Partnerships: Collaborate with local NGOs, businesses and government institutions to strengthen impact and ensure continued support. – Capacity Building: Train community leaders among the participants so that they can continue to pass on their skills and knowledge. – Continuous Evaluation: Establish a regular evaluation process to measure impact and adjust activities according to emerging needs. Expected Impact – Economic Empowerment: Significant increase in the income of participating women. – Improved Quality of Life: Increased access to healthcare, education and better nutrition for their families. – Social Cohesion: Strengthening community ties through collaboration between women and between families. In summary, this project aims to create an environment conducive to the economic empowerment of women in crisis contexts, by providing them with the tools they need to rebuild and prosper in the long term.
